Hi, I’m Haley!
Columbus, Ohio-based painter, crafter, and lover of all things creative.
I don’t know if there’s an art-form or craft I haven’t tried or at least have plans to try at some point in the future, but painting has always been my first love.
I’ve made a practice of noticing when I’m looking at something that makes me happy. Sometimes my work is focused on being present and other times, it focuses on nostalgia.
Whether it’s a particular look on my pet’s face, how pretty the wildflowers are on my walk, or how intricate the inside of my blood orange is when I cut it open, these are the moments we derive joy from when we’re present.
On the other hand, we all have those objects that remind us of childhood and past loved ones. It could be a candy that was always at the bottom of your grandma’s purse, but when you see it, you think of the person you associate with it. You’re transported back in that moment.
It all starts with color.
Playing with color makes me happy. When I look at a piece of art, I want the colors to evoke a feeling of happiness and ease.
While acrylic paint on canvas is my typical medium, I love experimenting with other materials and even some digital art!
